Everyday Oatmeal

Everyday Oatmeal!! I am not exaggerating when I say that I have eaten this almost every morning for the past 4 months. Yes, even throughout the summer. I am slightly obsessed because it is SO good and simple! I go to bed every night excited for this oatmeal in the morning (hehe)!!

As the weather cools off, this is the perfect warm and cozy breakfast. This recipe is dairy-free, gluten-free, and refined sugar free. If you can’t already tell, I HIGHLY recommend this oatmeal, so check out the recipe below!

Everyday Oatmeal

Makes 1 serving

1/2 cup rolled oats

1 cup almond milk

1/2 mashed banana

2 tsp chia seeds

1/4 tsp cinnamon

1. Combine all ingredients in a small saucepan. Bring to a boil.

2. Turn heat down to medium-low. Stir often until you reach the correct consistency. Oats should be soft, and the mixture should be thick!

3. Transfer to a bowl. Top with anything you like! I usually go with 1/2 banana, strawberries, blueberries, and natural peanut butter. I love to add honey too! Enjoy!!

“Our people must learn to devote themselves to doing what is good, in order to provide for urgent needs and not live unproductive lives.”

Titus 3:14

I recently read the book of Titus with a few friends at a bible study. While others were reading and discussing, I noticed one small difference in the NIV translation. This small difference hit me like a freight train.

I am referring to the word unproductive in Titus 3:14. Other translations, such as ESV, use the word unfruitful, but I found “unproductive” to be extremely eye-opening.

Wow, this verse is so convicting.

Titus 3:14 reminds us that doing good to glorify God and greaten His kingdom is URGENT. Sharing the Gospel is URGENT. Living out His will for your life is URGENT.

So… why do we get so wrapped up in the pressures and urgencies of this world?

Does your definition of productivity align with God’s definition? That is the big question that I constantly have to ask myself, especially as I enter into a new school year. It truly is humbling.

Titus 3:14 reminds me that I need to slow down and fix my eyes on Jesus. It reminds me that my worth is NOT found in my busy schedule. I encourage you to take time to think about this today. Talk to God about it!! I hope Titus 3:14 gives you a new perspective as it did for me.
