Sesame Chicken is my go-to take out dish from all Chinese restaurants, but this healthier version is better than any take out I have had. The leftovers were even good!! This recipe is by the incredible Half Baked Harvest, which is no surprise because all of her recipes are immaculate!
Not only is this recipe delicious, but it is also so easy! It is all cooked on one baking sheet, and the sauce is made in one pan. I substituted soy sauce for coconut aminos, which is a soy sauce substitute that doesn’t contain soy! I also used apple cider instead of pomegranate juice. Lastly, I incorporated brussels sprouts and broccoli. The recipe is linked here. I strongly encourage you all to try this one!
“Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms.”
1 Peter 4:10
This verse has brought me so much peace recently while also leading me to ask God so many questions. As a new college graduate, I am trying to figure out how God wants to use me in this world. How can I serve others? How can I be a “faithful steward of God’s grace” without being a missionary or pastor? Well… It took me awhile to realize that you do not need to be a missionary or pastor to serve others and glorify God.
God has blessed us all with various gifts. Some of you are great with public speaking. Some are great at writing. Some people love science. Some people love math. He created us all to be so different, but He also gave us all a purpose.
If every Christian was a pastor, who would do our taxes? Who would be your doctor? Who would teach your children? God created us all differently so that we can all glorify Him in various ways throughout the world. It is such a beautiful thing that we are all so different.
We each have different strengths. 1 Peter 4:10 reminds us to use the gifts and strengths that God has blessed us with to glorify Him and serve others. I read this and thought, “Paige, you CAN glorify God as an accountant.”
Even if you aren’t talking about or teaching God’s Word everyday at work, allow the light of Jesus to shine through you everyday. Yes, even at work! Extend grace. Be kind. Bring joy. Be loving. Walk like Jesus EVEN at your place of work. People will notice. More importantly, God will notice.
Ask God how you can glorify Him and serve others at work. Love you all!!
