You Are Fearfully and Wonderfully Made

I looked to my left at 8:31 PM on August 30, 2020 to see the most beautiful sight. As I landed in Jackson Hole, Wyoming, my eyes filled with tears. I was blown away by the beauty that surrounded me. I was blown away that God created such a beautiful place.

While I admired Wyoming, God reminded me that He not only made this beautiful place, but He also made EVERYthing and EVERYone. The same God that created the beautiful landforms that we admire daily also created YOU and me…

During creation, He called ALL things good. Our perfect Creator recognized ALL of mankind as “very good” (Genesis 1:31). He created every single person in His image with a plan and a purpose (Genesis 1:27). He created you through Him and FOR Him (Colossians 1:16). You are fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14). You are precious in His eyes. You are not an accident. You are a miracle.

There is no room or need for comparison in our hearts… If God wanted you to be or look like that person you compare yourself to, he would’ve made you like them. If God wanted you to be any different than you are, He would’ve created you that way, BUT he didn’t because he needs you the way you are — made in His image and perfect in His eyes.

Yes, despite all of your sin and imperfections, God still loves you SO much. He sent His son to die on the cross for YOUR sins so that YOU could be in relationship with Him (John 3:16). He created you with purpose, He loves you unconditionally, and He wants to be in relationship with you more than anything.

Lean into that & remember… the same God that created the beauty that surrounds you also created the beauty that is YOU.

“So God created mankind in His own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them.” Genesis 1:27

“God saw all that he had made, and it was very good…” Genesis 1:31

“For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.” Psalms 139:13-14

“For in Him all things were created: things in heaven and on Earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things have been created through Him and for Him.” Colossians 1:16

“For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.” John 3:16
